A logo, a product concept and a finished formula are three different starting points for a soap project. Calling all three ‘OEM’ can hide the work that must happen before a useful quotation is possible. SOVARUNE assesses the materials a buyer already has, the requested changes, the quantity and the target market before recommending stock wholesale, private label, ODM development or OEM production transfer.
This guide explains how SOVARUNE distinguishes those four routes. Its purpose is to help you choose the right starting point, rather than describe every step from sampling to shipment. First separate what must stay fixed from what you want the supplier to help develop.
Stock wholesale starts with existing finished soaps whose specifications and packaging are relatively fixed. It suits a retailer replenishing products, a buyer testing demand, or a small purchase that can use the available product as supplied. The important selection is the actual product or SKU, rather than a new formula or custom package.
Identify the product you want, the quantity and the destination. If your own logo or a different box is essential, state that separately: the request now includes branding or packaging work and needs its own assessment. A stock price is not a price for the same bar with any requested customization added.
For SOVARUNE's private-label route, the soap generally starts from an established formula and specification. The main change is brand presentation through the label, outer packaging or other branding elements. This is a useful starting point when you have a brand and want a mature product option, rather than a new product-development brief.
Prepare the logo source file, brand name, wording to be printed and a label or packaging reference. Add the desired product style, quantity and sales country. Decide whether you want to keep the soap specification or change its fragrance, shape, weight or formula direction. Listing those changes helps SOVARUNE assess whether the project remains mainly a branding exercise or needs more development. The custom bar soap page provides a product starting point.
SOVARUNE uses its ODM route for buyers with a product idea who need help developing it into a finished specification. The brief starts with positioning, target consumers, intended use, sales market and cost direction. Development may involve formula direction, skin feel, fragrance, color, shape, weight, packaging and brand presentation, with samples and adjustments helping establish the product.
For example, a concept for a distinctively scented gift soap is more useful when it includes the intended buyer, desired scent direction and presentation than when it says only ‘make a unique soap.’ Rank your priorities and mark the flexible choices. This is an illustrative way to prepare a brief, not a completed SOVARUNE project. Desired performance belongs in the development requirements; it does not by itself establish a proven product benefit.
The OEM route starts with a buyer's established formula, reference sample or confirmed product specification. SOVARUNE's assessment focuses on product specifications, quality requirements, packaging standards, quantity and repeat-order plans. The purpose is to define the standard the production needs to reproduce.
Label the materials you supply clearly: is the sample the required production standard, or only a reference for fragrance, appearance or feel? List which attributes must match and which may change. A reference bar alone can leave those priorities unclear. If major features are still undecided, describe the unresolved development work alongside the sample so the team can select a suitable route.
The route explains the starting point; the order scope explains what is being supplied. SOVARUNE's current minimums, effective September 11, 2026, are 50 pieces for stock soap, 500 pieces for custom bare soap, and 1,000 sets for one-stop custom soap with printed color-box packaging. These are supply categories, not one minimum assigned to each of the four collaboration labels. For multiple fragrances or designs, list the quantity for each so its allocation can be assessed.
The confirmed sampling fees are CNY 200 for custom bare soap and CNY 1,000 for combined soap, color-box and label sampling. Both sampling fees are fully credited toward a subsequent bulk order. Bare-soap sampling normally takes approximately 7–10 days; that period does not describe boxed samples, bulk production or delivery to your address. Define the sample and packaging scope before planning around a quoted schedule.
For instance, choosing an existing formula does not make a printed-box project a stock purchase. Equally, an OEM brief does not say whether you need bare bars or boxed retail sets. State both the product starting point and the supplied format. For the packaging specification after that decision, use the soap and packaging RFQ checklist.
A useful first brief can fit in one message: the soap you want to purchase or develop; estimated quantity; sales country and channel; materials already available, such as a logo, formula, sample or packaging design; the changes you want; and whether samples are needed. If DDP pricing is required, include the complete delivery address. Mark undecided details instead of choosing a manufacturing label simply to complete the inquiry.
Contact SOVARUNE with that brief and identify your main priority: buying an available product, applying your brand, developing a concept or transferring an established specification. The team can then recommend the collaboration route and assess its scope before preparing the quotation.
